(a) Graduation from a standard high school or possession of an equivalency diploma issued by the State Education Department of New York PLUS three (3) years of clerical and record keeping experience of which one (1) year shall have involved the performance of moderately difficult clerical tasks.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
Under supervision performs a variety of difficult and responsible tasks in connection with the operation of the office and department.
This is important clerical work which requires considerable direct contact with the general public, the performance of various account and record keeping tasks; the maintenance of accurate records; typing; and the exercise of independent judgment.
A general understanding of specific laws, office rules, procedure and policies are required.
The work of employees in this class is checked by immediate supervisor or by another step in the clerical process.
Supervision may be exercised over clerical assistants.
Does related work as required.
